The Citadel of Bitche will reopen its doors on 21 February 2026 at 10 a.m.!

Witness to the great turning points in history, from the French Revolution through the Franco-Prussian War of 1870 to the end of the Second World War, the citadel has become a guardian of memory. Listed as a historic monument since 1979, it has been preserved as a reminder that peace was only achieved at the price of painful trials.

This season, the citadel is coming out of hibernation earlier and will welcome visitors on weekends from 21 February, before resuming its normal opening hours from 8 March 2026.
