Reopening of the Citadel

The citadel of Bitche opens its doors again on 9 March 2025!

Witness to the great turning points in history, from the French Revolution through the Franco-Prussian War of 1870 to the end of the Second World War, the citadel has become a guardian of memory. Listed as a historic monument since 1979, it has been preserved as a reminder that peace was only achieved at the price of painful trials.
